Platte County Pole Vaulter Maya Sullivan named Pirate of the Week - Week 10 Spring Season
Platte County Track and Field is proud to announce that junior Maya Sullivan has been named Pirate of the Week for Platte County High School!

A quote from Coach Smith: "Maya had an outstanding season competing in the pole vault. Sullivan vaulted in 9 meets this season and never finished out of the top 3. She claimed the pole vault conference champion title earlier this season and was runner up in the District and Sectional meets. On Friday, Sullivan became the third individual state champion in program history with her 1st place finish in the Class 4 State Championship Meet at Jefferson City High School. Sullivan was excited to be the state champion in pole vault and she was just as happy that she could score 10 points for her team which helped the team place 4th in the team standings!"

Maya joined a short but elite list of female athletes as she became only the third individual State Champion in history. The two previous champions were Elizabeth Robbins and Rebekah Geddes. Congrats Maya!
